Oh, I so hope you post a photo of the dogwood in spring!!! (I'm so jealous you have a dogwood...we have a crummy box elder that's slated for destruction in a month or so. As soon as we can find it under the snow.)

Girlfriend, we have a heavy blanket going on and I was thinking the same thing, that I should get my planting figured out now so I can have a gameplan. And I was also remembering the summer of 86 when March was HOT enough that my best friend and I laid out on her roof. Iowa, the weather is NEVER boring!

I have my doubts about the time frame, but I'm trying to remain optimistic. I'll take a picture of our little choke cherry tree and post it tomorrow - let's check in with our trees periodically and see how they compare!

jess- yes, I will definitely post pics in the spring- sounds fun, esp. as I brace myself before going out into the brisk 20 degree afternoon. ps You will let all of us fans know when you'll be having a book signing- maybe in Madison? Iowa City? Galena? Dubuque? Racine? Rockford? I could go to any of those places to get my book signed by you.:)

sunshine- I remember in 2000, I took a "mommy day" with my daughter in early March and it was like 75.

mrs. chili-I am probably being overly optimistic, but it gets me through the day. Would LOVE to do some tree comparison photos- do you get actual choke cherries from your tree?

That's beautiful.

I don't know what a dogwood flower is but I've seen pink flowers before, can I just imagine those?
