This is an oxcart in Costa Rica. They were used to haul harvested coffee beans before the invention of pickup trucks and the like. Each artist had his own particular style, so that you could tell who had painted the oxcart just by looking at it. They had some small ones (more like a goat cart) for purchase, but I thought it might be hard to carry back on the plane. Instead, I bought a miniature one, complete with oxen to display in my classroom.
